This was an absolute treat, hearing the perfectly harmonious a cappella group called “Pentatonix.” The Oakdale Theater in Wallingford, Connecticut was packed with high school kids who sing a cappella at their schools, lovers of perfect-pitch music. Pentatonix has no musical instruments, just their voices, though they did insert an electric cello, but that was coupled with beat-boxing. My oldest daughter Lindsay sang a cappella at Hand High School in Madison, Connecticut under the direction of the award-winning music director, Ron Soja, and then went on to sing with a group called “The Cordials” at UCONN.
